When you think about it, most people are reasonable, right? We respect one another, tolerant of each other and acceptance is a must in our 21st century society. As individuals we treat each other well. Now take us and times 10. Now there is 20 of us, and we still treat each other the same. Multiply again, 200. A village. Sure, people will still be reasonable and I’m assuming violence is non-existent. Multiply that again and again till we get 7 billion. Are we still behaving well amongst one another?
Sometimes I hear things like, omfg weapon of mass destruction in Iran or North Korea or some other Arab republic. Big deal right? Media, always blowing things out of the water. Besides who is in their right mind to now make a direct decision to annihilate a city or attack a country just to take lives. Pretty pointless and costs too much money.
But wait. Didn’t 9/11 happened? Or is it one of those moments where you’re peeing in the toilet whilst staring at the tile and hot steam rises and you ponder. Maybe I’m in bed and I’m fucking peeing on the mattress. And your phone vibrates. The bed is not wet and 9/11 did happen. Amongst other violence.
So, where are we again? Are we still nice to each another? Yes and no. This world is a ticking time bomb. For being nice we’re rewarded with idiots producing offspring at an unprecedented scale with only finite resources to feed. Also we modern society have a “moral dilemma” to do the right thing. Reduce carbon footprint (at our own expense), accept insert a religion as who they are, incompetent people voting incompetent government in, go off to a foreign country to teach them how to govern themselves (at our own expense), etc etc etc etc.
Sometimes I feel we have everything to lose when we give, accept and relent but those on the receiving end don’t.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Why should I tolerate people who thinks that I’m beyond help/going to hell/an infidel/ immoral/ liberal and loose? How can I even conduct myself in a civil way in front of those who think so (and it weighs on their mind constantly when they deal with us) when in fact these groups of ignoramus homo sapiens are the root of most evil?
Am I becoming xenophobic? I hope not…
And so is Ellen right about telling us to be kind to one another? Maybe, time will only tell I suppose.
